As part of Capital Bee's work it raises new honey bee colonies which can be bought as a nucleus of 4 frames with brood and honey on national or WBC frames for £170 to kind homes. There is a 10% discout for OAP's or charities. The bees are mostly from Carniolan queens crossed with native hybrids, the most amenable ones are selected. Carniolan characteristics are peaceable nature, white cappings, and relatively low levels of propolis on frames. Many people are nervous of driving with bees in the back of their car so Capital Bee can offer a unique bees-to-your-door service if you are in the London area for an extra £10. Parent colonies are regularly checked by a DEFRA bee inspector. Colonies are in short supply and are already being booked for next year, if you would like one please book ahead to avoid disappointment.

If you have any problems or questions after delivery Capital Bee is always happy to help or refer you to support organisations such as the British Beekeepers Association. Bees are guaranteed and if you are not happy they can be returned and you will be refunded or given a replacement colony if available.
