Welcome to the wonderful world of city bees and honey.

Based in South London and Central London we make our own delicious honey to sell. 2012 Brockley and Greenwich honey will be available at Broca Market, Brockley, The Frog on the Green Deli in Nunhead, Cafe Crema in New Cross, and El's Kitchen in Ladywell in July. 2012 honey will be available at the end of July weather permitting.

Time Out listed Capital Bee's honey amongst the top six best London Honeys. The work of Capital Bee has recently been featured in articles in the Sunday Times Magazine, the Guardian, House Beautiful, and lots of other magazines and documentaries.

Capital Bee maintains hives in Greenwich for Greenwich University and has hives in Greenwich Royal Park and also a large apiary in Brockley. The Greenwich Mausoleum site is of great historical interest as it is by the old mausoleum where some of Nelson's great admirals are buried, such as Admiral Hardy.To see this apiary site and others check out this fab video by Superimpose mag of the bees www.vimeo.com/25756911 or their site at www.superimposemag.com/2011/06/capital-bee/ Capital Bee also sets up and runs beehives for companies, charities and individuals. Capital Bee has set up an apiary on the roof of St Ermin's Hotel in St James Park and also for Melvita in Covent Garden, as well as for several other central London institutions and individuals.

The Melvita store in St Martin's Courtyard, Covent Garden sells the honey from their site. The honey will be available direct from Melvita's shop this summer.

If you've discovered a bee swarm, don't panic! We can collect and remove it for you if you are in the London area, and if it's in a reasonably accessible place, just contact us.

The poor old honey bee is becoming increasingly endangered at the moment, and needs as much support as it can get. To find out how, visit our conservation page. We were surprised to note that the Soil Association have identified many top selling household bug killers as containing neonicotinoids that are believed to be harmful to bees. To find out more check out the SA page. If you would like to help protect bees planting bee friendly plants and trees to increase forage in urban areas is crucial. Friends of the Earth are starting a new initiative this year to help raise awareness about bees, and there are several charities like the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Sustain and Bees for Development that help bees.

If you are a pest control company in London we can sometimes arrange to collect swarms depending on the site and get them back on their feet by hiving them and sorting out any health and temperament issues.
